The NOACA Board of Directors formally approved Clean Water 2020 as Northeast Ohio's 208 Water Quality Management Plan during its September 11, 2020, meeting.

Clean Water 2020 is the culmination of a multi-year process that included significant stakeholder and public input. NOACA presented a draft to the public, coinciding with a 30-day public comment period.

Ohio EPA included Clean Water 2020 in the update to State Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP) and Section 208 Plans. The Plans were available for review during a public comment period (April-May 2021) with a virtual Public Hearing on May 20, 2021.

Clean Water 2020 has received certification by the governor and approval by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) as part of the updates to the State WQMP and Section 208 Plans. This plan replaces NOACA’s previous 208 Plan, Clean Water 2000.
