Section 5307 Project Descriptions
Automated Storage and Retrieval System
This new project is to replace equipment that has exceeded its useful life. This equipment is used to store and retrieve spare parts at our Central Bus Maintenance Facility. Funds are programmed in 2025 to support the equipment replacement and force account costs.
Lift Replacement Program – This new program is to replace vehicle lift equipment that has exceeded its useful life. This equipment is located at all of our bus and paratransit maintenance facilities. Funds are programmed in 2025 to support the equipment replacement and force account costs.
Three Heavy Rail Platform Replacements
This new project is to replace the rail platforms at our West Park, Cedar-University, and Superior Red Line Stations to rehabilitate these stations to be ADA-compliant. Funds are programmed in 2025 to support the design, construction, third-party construction management, and force account costs.
Transit-Oriented Development Pilot Program Competitive Grant Project Description
Lorain Road Transit-Oriented Development Study – This new study will evaluate potential transit/roadway improvements such as Bus Rapid Transit coupled with land use planning and zoning changes to facilitate transit-oriented development on Lorain Road from Country Club Road to West 25th Street in the Cities of North Olmsted, Fairview Park, and Cleveland. Funds are programmed in 2025 to support the study and project administration costs. This project is 100% federally funded through Section 5305 (TOD) funds.
