Cleveland (February 2, 2026) – The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) is inviting residents across the region to leave the car behind and fall in love with transit during the Northeast Ohio Loves Transit Challenge, taking place throughout the month of February.
This challenge encourages the use of public transit and other commuting options, highlighting how individual choices can improve the region’s air quality. By choosing buses, trains, and other modes of transportation, participants help reduce emissions while enjoying the benefits of transit.
Open to residents, employees, students, and daily regional commuters in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina counties, the challenge is hosted on the Gohio Commute platform.
Gohio Commute, a program of the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), is a free ride planning, matching, and logging tool available to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina Counties. This interactive platform provides information on making smart commuting choices, which can save money, improve health, and positively impact air quality. The platform can also connect you with nearby commuters to share your ride.
Participation is simple. Riders log their public transit trips on Gohio Commute for a chance to win prizes. Participants may log up to four trips per day and are automatically entered into weekly prize drawings and a grand prize drawing for the top commuter.
The challenge prizes are donated by our generous sponsors Laketran, Bike Cleveland, and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA).
