NOACA HOSTS WEBINAR ON THE NEW INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT JOBS ACT (IIJA) ALONG WITH OHIO CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS

NOACA hosted a virtual webinar on January 24 on the new federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).  More than 450 viewers attended this event.

NOACA's Executive Director & CEO, Grace Gallucci provided an overview of IIJA and how it could impact Northeast Ohio. Joining the discussion were distinguished Ohio Congressional leaders: Senator Sherrod Brown, Senator Rob Portman, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Congressman Anthony Gonzalez, and Congresswoman Shontel Brown.

The presentation and discussion focused on the Act's authorization of funds for Federal-aid highways, highway safety programs, transit programs and other purposes. The $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is the largest and most comprehensive infrastructure bill in American history. It is a two-for-one piece of legislation containing both a reauthorization of the surface transportation program and a once-in-a-generation infrastructure investment.
