Cleveland, OH (March 12, 2020)— The regularly scheduled Board of Directors Meeting at the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) will still take place at the organization’s offices but through Facebook Live streaming due to the situation surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19).   The meeting will be Live at 9:00 a.m. on the @NOACA Facebook page.  In person participation will not permitted.  However, the public can make comments during the meeting on the Facebook platform.  The Live stream will be available approximately 10 minutes prior to the meeting.

In concert with our local and state elected officials, NOACA is keeping a close eye on the developing situation surrounding the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) by limiting social interactions. Our number one goal is the safety and well-being of our residents, visitors and communities throughout Northeast Ohio.

NOACA Introduces Clean Water 2020 Plan and Webinar for Public Input

CLEVELAND (Friday, June 19, 2020) The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) will host a webinar and public comment period for its Clean Water 2020 Plan. 

Section 208 of the federal Clean Water Act requires Areawide planning agencies to create and update water quality management plans that address water pollution, restoration and maintenance of water quality in lakes, rivers and streams. As the Areawide planning agency for Northeast Ohio, the NOACA is responsible for producing and updating the 208 Water Quality Plan. The agency is currently seeking comments on its latest update, Clean Water 2020. The plan can be found on the public comments page on NOACA’s website at the following link through July 20, 2020:

Clean Water 2020 addresses both municipal waste treatment (sewage) and nonpoint source pollution management and controls. The plan identifies entities that are responsible for those functions, as well as for implementing specific water quality management duties and recommendations that are detailed in the plan.

Virtual Public Meeting

A virtual public meeting about Clean Water 2020 is scheduled for July 1 from 1 to 2 p.m. NOACA will give an overview of the plan and point out what has changed from the previous plan. Participants will be able to ask questions and offer comments. The webinar is free but registration is required and can be found at the following link:
