US-422 and SR-306 Intersection Improvements in Bainbridge Township

History/Background: This project is identified as a Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) project.

Current Conditions: SR-306 (Chillicothe Road) is functionally classified as an urban principal arterial. SR-306 is a four-lane facility with left turn lanes at the intersections. The average daily traffic (ADT) on SR-306 is 14,030 vehicles per day. The speed limit on SR-306 is 35 miles per hour. US-422 is functionally classified as an urban freeway and is two lanes in each direction. The ADT on US-422 is 20,272 vehicles per day.

Proposed Project: The proposed project involves reconfiguring the ramps to improve traffic flow at the intersection of US-422 and SR-306 in Bainbridge Township (location map). The estimated total cost is $1,162,000. Ninety percent ($1,045,800) of the construction cost will be funded with State Surface Transportation Program (S/STP) funds. ODOT will fund ten percent ($116,200) of the construction cost.
