 |  As part of its monitoring of the region’s Congestion Management System, NOACA staff periodically conducts travel speed and delay studies of the freeway network. Vehicle speeds, elapsed travel time and duration & frequency of delays paint a picture of how traffic moves on the region’s freeways, and identifies congestion problems on freeway segments.
Morning congestion on I-77
NOACA’s 2007 Freeway Travel Time Study represents a speed and delay study to evaluate the existing operating characteristics of segments along I-480, SR-2 West, part of I-90 West, I-271 both Local and Express Lanes, SR-44, part of I-90 east and SR-2 East within the NOACA five-county region.
Field work for this study was conducted in the spring of 2006.
