Bonita G. Teeuwen, P.E.
Deputy Director, District 12, Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)

Bonita G. Teeuwen, P.E., is the deputy director of Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 12, where she is responsible for coordinating and implementing projects in Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties. She assumed leadership in February 2007.

Ms. Teeuwen earned a civil engineering degree from the University of Akron and worked for ODOT for 13 years before moving on to private engineering firms Wade Trim and Michael Benza and Associates. Most recently, she worked as a consultant on part of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s Euclid Corridor project.

Ms. Teeuwen is a member of NOACA’s Governing Board; past president of the Lake Erie Chapter of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE); a board member of ASHE, Region 1; and a committee member of the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference; and a proxy board member for ODOT Director James Beasley for the Ohio Turnpike Commission.
