NOACA Councils and Task Forces

The chair of NOACA’s Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) may establish advisory councils and task forces with the approval of the Governing Board. Councils offer advice and recommendations to the TAC on specific transportation subjects or technical issues. Task forces are often established to oversee a special study or report. Membership on task forces can include Board members, standing or subcommittee members, or individuals with unique expertise.

NOACA currently convenes four advisory councils:

Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Council (BPAC)
2011 Chair: Martin Keane, Cleveland City Councilman

The BAC works toward achieving transportation goal 4 of the long-range transportation plan (increasing modal choice) by promoting bicycles as a viable transportation mode and supporting facilities that increase bicycle and pedestrian use.

Transit Council
2011 Chair: Raymond Jurkowski, General Manager, Laketran

The Transit Council promotes transit facilities and encourages transit use.

Task Force:

Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) Task Force

During the annual cycle for NOACA’s TLCI Planning Award program, NOACA convenes a task force to review project applications and recommend recipients to receive funding.
