NOACA Annual Summit Scheduled for Friday, June 13
Local officials and transportation planners from throughout Ohio are preparing to come together at Cleveland State University’s Convocation Center Friday, June 13 for the region’s fourth Annual Summit, “Getting Involved”. The Summit, open to the public, brings elected officials, planners and interested citizens together to discuss transportation and environmental planning, projects and policies that potentially affect and influence the region.
The session will feature a discussion of “hot issues” of the region, featuring presentations by Lake County Commissioner Daniel P. Troy, Geauga County Commissioner Neil Hofstetter and Cuyahoga County Engineer Robert C. Klaiber. Ohio Department of Transportation Director Gordon Proctor will be the keynote speaker at the Summit luncheon. This year’s Summit will also feature two interactive afternoon workshops, “Show Me the Money”, focusing on applying for federal aid for transportation improvements, and “Phase II Stormwater Management Plan, Next Steps”, which will focus on the implementation of stormwater management plans.
NOACA anticipates an attendance of over 200 people at the Summit. “This will be a significant regional event,” stated Howard Maier, NOACA Executive Director. “This year we are hosting workshops on topics that should interest most local officials and communities. We’re tailoring the workshops to address issues and questions that we hear time and time again.”
Summit cost, including luncheon, is $40, and $20 for students and senior citizens with valid identification. For more information about the Summit details, contact Andrea Mitchell at 216-241-2414 extension 310.
