Title: Slide Repair and Erosion Protection along SR-87 in Hunting Valley

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s Maintenance Program.
Current Conditions: SR-87 (South Woodland Road) is functionally classified as an urban minor arterial. SR-87 is a two -lane facility with lanes nine to eleven feet wide. The pavement width also varies between 30 and 45 feet. The width of the existing right-of-way is 60 feet. The legal speed limit is 35 miles per hour, and the average daily traffic is 6,730 vehicles per day with about four percent trucks (2003 count).
Proposed Project: This project involves slide repair and erosion protection on SR-87, along the Chagrin River, in the Village of Hunting Valley. The total construction cost is estimated to be $250,000. Eighty percent ($200,000) of the construction cost will be funded from District 12’s landslide and erosion assistance (slips, slides, mine subsidence) Federal Program. Twenty percent ($50,000) of the construction cost will be funded by ODOT. The sponsor estimates the project can be awarded in January 2010
