The Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the TIP by adopting Resolution No. 2001-074 on 12/14/01

History/Background:
This project is included in ODOT District 3's two-lane resurfacing program. 

Current Conditions:
 
SR-301
(Spencer Road in Medina County and Lattasburg-Elyria Road in Lorain County) is a two-lane road.  It is functionally classified as a rural major collector.  The average daily traffic (ADT) varies along  SR-301 from 1,600 to 2,650 vehicles per day (1997 count) in Medina County and between 2,300 and 5,950 vehicles per day (1997 count) in Lorain County.

Proposed Project:
This project involves resurfacing 10.22 miles of SR-301, from the Wayne/Medina County Line to the Medina/Lorain County Line in Homer Township, Spencer Village and Spencer Township, in Medina County.  The project also extends 15.46 miles in Lorain County, from  the Medina/Lorain County Line to US-20 in Penfield Township, LaGrange Township, LaGrange Village and Carlisle Township.

The total construction cost is estimated to be $1,770,000.  Eighty percent ($1,416,000) of the construction (C) cost  will be funded with ODOT District 3's allocation of Surface Transportation Program (S/STP) funds.  ODOT 3 will provide the twenty percent ($354,000) non-federal share and prepare plans in-house.  Construction is expected to occur in SFY 2005.
