Bridge Maintenance on SR-2 in Painesville, Painesville Township

 

The NOACA Governing Board approved the following project as a candidate to be amended to the NOACA Transportation Plan by adopting Resolution No. 2004-057 and as a proposed amendment to the TIP by adopting Resolution 2004-058 on December 10, 2004.

History/Background:  This project is included in the ODOT District 12's 2006 Bridge Program.

Current Conditions: SR-2 is functionally classified as an urban freeway. SR-2 is two lanes in each direction with a pavement width of 24’ (in each direction). The legal speed limit is 60 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) is 39,980 (2002 traffic count).

Proposed Project: The project involves maintenance and repair of two (2) bridges on SR-2, over SR-283 (Richmond Street), in the City of Painesville and Painesville Township. The project includes wearing surface replacement. The total construction cost is estimated at $440,000 Ninety percent (90%) of the construction cost ($396,000) will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds from District 12’s Preservation (highways & bridges) Program. Ten percent (10%) of the construction cost ($44,000) will be funded by ODOT. This project has an estimated award date of September 2005 (SFY 2006).

  • This project promotes NOACA's Framework for Action 2025 Plan Goal 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio Goal 1 (System Preservation and Management).
  • This project indirectly serves Environmental Justice (E.J.) populations in Painesville.
