The Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the TIP by adopting Resolution No. 2000-078 on 12/08/00

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 3's two lane resurfacing program
Current Conditions: SR-2 is functionally classified as an urban freeway. The operating speed varies between 55mph and 65 mph. The average daily traffic (ADT) is 36,150 (1992 traffic count). The facility is two lanes in each direction with a pavement width of 24'.
Proposed Project: The project involves crack and joint sealing 11.14 miles of SR-2, from the Erie County/Lorain County line to IR-90, in Brownhelm Township, Vermilion, Amherst, Amherst Township and Elyria Township.
The ODOT District 3 production department will prepare the plans for the project. Construction would be scheduled for SFY 2004. Eighty percent of the construction cost will be funded from District 3's National Highway System (NHS) pavement allocation. Twenty percent of the construction cost will funded by ODOT.

Staff Assessment (Summary): More extensive work is included in a segment of a project, scheduled to be constructed in SFY 2001(LOR IR-90/SR-2 – 10.76/7.97: PID No. 17891). This project will not conflict as it is scheduled for SFY 2004.
