The NOACA Governing Board approved the
following project for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement
Program (TIP) by adopting Resolution No. 2003-036 on June 13,
2003.
Title: Bridge Replacement on SR-700 in Troy Township Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 12 Estimated Total Cost: $330,000
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT
History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s SFY 2004 Bridge Program.
Current Conditions: SR-700 (Claridon-Troy Road) is functionally classified as a rural minor arterial. The speed limit is 45 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic is 2,090 vehicles per day (4.3% trucks). The existing number of lanes is two (2), ten feet wide. The bridge has paved shoulders eight (8) feet wide (two feet wide, gravel shoulders off the bridge).
Proposed Project: This project involves replacing the bridge on SR-700, over a branch of the Cuyahoga River in Troy Township. The bridge will remain two lanes, but with lanes twelve feet wide. Eighty percent ($264,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Bridge (BR) funds. ODOT will fund the remaining twenty percent ($66,000). This project would begin construction in SFY 2005.
Staff Comment (Summary):
- This project meets NOACA’s Framework For Action 2025 Plan Goal # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s “Access Ohio” Goal # 1 (System Preservation and Management).
- The project does not directly serve Urban Core or Environmental Justice (EJ) populations.
- Move for committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
