Slope Repair on I-77 Ramp in Independence

 

On March 12, 2010 the NOACA Governing Board approved the following regarding this project: Resolution No. 2010-008 Project Planning Review Resolution No. 2010-009 Plan and TIP Amendment.

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s Maintenance Program.

Current Conditions: I-77 and I-480 are functionally classified as interstates. The speed limits are 55 miles per hour. The average daily traffic varies.

Proposed Project: The project involves repairing the slope on the I-77 ramp, from the gore to I-480 (approximately 300 feet), in Independence (location map). The slope failure will be repaired by removing poor material, benching in new embankment with deep drains and re-establishing the ditch. The estimated total cost of the project is $583,403. The estimated cost of preliminary engineering (PE) is $16,903. The PE phase will be funded by ODOT. The estimated cost of construction is $566,500. Ninety percent ($509,850) of the construction cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance funds. Ten percent ($56,650) of the construction cost will be funded by ODOT. This project has an estimated award date of April 2012.
