Title: Sign and Sign Structure Replacement throughout Cuyahoga and Geauga Counties

Estimated Total Cost: $1,320,000
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s SFY 2009 Sign Maintenance/Repair Program.

Current Conditions: Roadway characteristics and average daily traffic vary depending on roadway segment.

Proposed Project: This project involves a systematic sign and sign structure replacement at various locations in Cuyahoga and Geauga Counties. The estimated construction cost is $1,320,000. Ninety percent ($1,188,000) of the construction cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund ten percent of the construction cost ($132,000). The project is expected to be awarded in April 2009.

Plan and Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Team:
  • This project is consistent with NOACA’s Connections 2030 Goal # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio 2004 - 2030 Goal # 3 (Efficient, Reliable Traffic Flow).
  • Recommend committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
