December 2009 Update
The Regional Storm Water Task Force developed a series of three model ordinances to assist communities that are affected by Ohio EPA’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit. Recent changes in Ohio EPA’s permit conditions require that communities update their storm water ordinance base to incorporate changes that Ohio EPA made to the permits that control activities on construction sites. NOACA is providing updated versions of two of the model ordinances that incorporate these changes. The third ordinance in the model packet titled “Ordinance Controlling Riparian Setbacks and Wetland Setbacks” does not need to be updated at this time.
The update package includes several items:
- Updated Ordinance Controlling Construction Site Soil Erosion, Sediment, and Other Wastes and Storm Water Runoff (Word Document).
- A comparison Word document that identifies all changes made to the January 2006 version of the Ordinance Controlling Construction Site Soil Erosion, Sediment, and Other Wastes and Storm Water Runoff (PDF Document).
- Updated Ordinance Controlling Post-Construction Water Quality Runoff (Word Document).
- A comparison Word document that identifies all changes made to the January 2006 version of the Ordinance Controlling Post-Construction Water Quality Runoff (PDF Document).
- A spreadsheet that identifies the changes required by Ohio EPA linked to the updates made in the model ordinances to accommodate them (PDF Document).
The Ordinance Controlling Riparian Setbacks and Wetland Setbacks last updated in January 2006 can be accessed here (Word Document).
