Seven of Northeast Ohio's eight counties are in nonattainment for particulate matter of less than 2.5 microns in diameter (PM2.5). A completed State Implementation Plan is due from Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to USEPA in April 2008. We must show clean air by 2010, as with ozone. We will spend the next 6-8 months studying how Northeast Ohio will achieve that goal.
