NOACA remains committed to public participation in all aspects of its planning work, and encourages input on its documents, plans and programs. To formalize this commitment, as well as meet federal and state requirements, NOACA developed the PIP, which focuses on public information, public involvement processes, and public access to NOACA’s office and meetings. The document was updated to:

  1. Ensure consistency with current federal public involvement regulations and interim guidance related to new transportation bill, SAFETEA-LU;
  2. Recommend changes to the policy in light of current public involvement practices as well as new plans and other procedures that have been developed since the adoption of the policy in 2002; and
  3. Determine continued compliance with state laws governing open meetings and public access to NOACA documents.
You can view the PIP document available in portable document format (pdf).
