Painting Structural Steel/Truss Section of Innerbelt Bridge in Cleveland

 

The NOACA Governing Board approved the following project as a candidate to be amended to the NOACA Transportation Plan by adopting Resolution No. 2005-012 and as a proposed amendment to the TIP by adopting Resolution 2005-013 on March 11, 2005.

Title: Painting structural steel of the truss section of Innerbelt Bridge in Cleveland

Estimated Total Cost: $7,100,000
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT

History/Background:  This project is included in ODOT District 12’s Major Bridge Program.

Current Conditions: I-90 is functionally classified as an urban principal arterial interstate. The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) is 134,650 vehicles per day (1996 count). GCRTA operates Flyer service along this segment.

Proposed Project: This project involves painting the structural steel of the truss section of Innerbelt Bridge, over the Cuyahoga River Valley, in Cleveland. Ninety percent ($6,390,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the 10% ($710,000) non-federal share.This project has an award date of January 2007 (SFY2007).

Depending on the recommendations from the Innerbelt Study, this project may be combined with other work and/or moved to a later fiscal year.
