OhioRideshare and Ohio BikeBuddies
NOACA is pleased to offer two free, online services to commuters in northeast Ohio:
- OhioRideshare allows anyone interested in forming a carpool to identify potential carpool partners.
- Ohio BikeBuddies helps people who commute to work by bicycle find other bicycle commuters to ride with for safety reasons as well as companionship.
Here’s how to find carpool partners and/or bike buddies.
- Log onto the OhioRideshare/OhioBikeBuddies Web site under “New Rideshare User.”
- Select “Carpool/Rideshare Matching” only, “OhioBikeBuddies” only or “Carpool and OhioBikeBuddies” if you would like to find both.
- Enter your starting point and destination.
- Indicate the days and times you work.
- Indicate whether you would prefer a male or female, or smoker or non-smoker as a carpool partner or bike buddy.
- The site produces a map showing a suggested route from the beginning location to your work site, as well as the approximate locations of other carpool partners and/or bicycle commuters. Matches for OhioBikeBuddies are indicated by a small bike icon.
- Contact potential carpool partners or bicycling buddies directly by e-mail. You decide how much of your personal information to reveal, so your information remains confidential.
