Governing Board Action: October 11, 2002
At today's NOACA Governing Board meeting, members unanimously approved contributing $10 million in NOACA-controlled Congestion Mitigation / Air Quality (CMAQ) funding to the Euclid Corridor Transportation Project. The NOACA commitment will reduce the City of Cleveland's financial share to the project by $7 million and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority's (GCRTA) share by $3 million.
GCRTA, project sponsor, anticipates that construction for the project will begin in 2005. NOACA's CMAQ funding will be directed toward the project in the amount of $2 million per year for five consecutive years beginning in 2005.
In other business, the Board approved an update of the region's Congestion Management System (CMS) Manual of Practice. The Congestion Management System is the planning tool for evaluating and managing congestion on Northeast Ohio's roadway and transit systems.
