The Ozone Action Day Program is dedicated to informing and increasing public awareness (Public Awareness Survey) of the possible health risks and the environmental impacts of ground-level ozone. The program strives to reach local communities and businesses to inform them of the actions that can be taken to reduce emissions that lead to the ground-level ozone. The program can also aid in maintaining the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The NAAQS are standards set by the US EPA, which sets the standards of harmful pollutants to the general public. If we fail to attain these standards, it can lead to mandated emissions controls.
