NOACA Governing Board Approves Amending 25 Projects to Transportation Improvement Program

Cleveland—At its meeting today, the Governing Board of the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), amended the State Fiscal Years 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) with 25 transportation improvement projects scheduled to receive NOACA-administered federal funding. The TIP is the region’s comprehensive, four-year listing of federal-aid highway, transit and bikeway projects scheduled for implementation in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties. A sampling of projects added to the TIP today includes:
  • Rehabilitate Triskett Road from Lorain Road to West 140th Street and Warren Road from Lorain Road to Munn Road in Cleveland, $4.9 million
  • Remove and replace the East 79th Street Bridge over the Norfolk Southern and RTA rail tracks in Cleveland, $8.5 million
  • Extend West 73rd Street and construct a railroad underpass under the Norfolk Southern tracks in Cleveland, $34.8 million
  • Construct curb-lane bus lanes along Clifton Boulevard from the east end of the Shoreway to the west end bus loop at the Lakewood terminus in Lakewood and Cleveland, $9.5 million
  • Resurface Bainbridge Road from the Cuyahoga/Geauga county line to Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge and Auburn Townships, $800,000
  • Resurface McMackin Road from US-20 to Chapel Road in Madison Township, $1.6 million
  • Construct an all-purpose trail along Henderson Drive to SR-611 and the Black River in Lorain, $1.65 million
