The Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the TIP by adopting Resolution No. 2000-078 on 12/08/00

History/Background:
This section of roadway was last treated in 1992.  The sponsor is requesting NOACA-attributable Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds.

Current Conditions:
Munn Road is functionally classified as an urban collector. It is a two lane road with a pavement width of 22' and 2' wide stabilized shoulders.  The average daily  traffic (ADT) is 2,700  vehicles per day (2000). The speed limit is 55mph.

Proposed Project:
This project involves the resurfacing approximately 1.7 miles of Munn Road, from Stafford Road  to Bell Street,  in Auburn Township and Newbury Township.

The preliminary engineering (PE) and right-of-way (RW) will be locally funded.  Eighty percent ($240,000) of the construction cost will be funded with STP funds.  The Geauga County Engineer will provide  the non-federal share of construction ($60,000). The project would be designed by in-house staff and ready to construct for SFY 2003.

The BASC recommends that a 4' paved shoulder be included with this project and gravel driveway aprons be paved to the edge of the right-of-way.

The TAC recommends this project for Governing Board approval.
