Title: Bridge Repairs at Various Locations in Medina County Sponsor: ODOT District 3 Name: MED D03 BH FY2012 (B) PID No.: 80189 Estimated Total Cost: $632,369 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 3’s SFY 2012 Bridge Program. Current Conditions: I-71 is functionally classified as a rural interstate, from the Medina County line to Sharon Copley Road and as an urban principal arterial, from Sharon Copley Road to SR-3 (Weymouth Road). Leroy Road and Daniels Road are functionally classified as local roads. Proposed Project: This project involves repairs to twin bridges on I-71 over the Rocky River in Medina Township. The project also involves repairs to a bridge on Leroy Road over I-71 and a bridge on Daniels Road over I-71, in Westfield Township (location map). The project also includes three bridges in Wayne County. The work includes sealing safety curbs and railing, concrete patching, subsurface sealing, painting and asphalt deck overlay. The estimated construction cost is $632,369. Eighty percent ($505,895) of the construction cost will be funded with Bridge (BR) funds. ODOT will provide the remaining twenty percent ($126,474) of the construction cost. This project’s estimated award date is October 1, 2011.
