History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 3’ SFY 2008 Pavement Program.

Current Conditions: I-76 is a four-lane divided highway. I-76 is functionally classified a rural interstate principal arterial from west of I-71 to the Wadsworth west corporation line (WCL) and an urban interstate principal arterial, from the Wadsworth WCL to the Medina County/ Summit County line. The average daily traffic (ADT) on I-76 varies from 27,810 to 42,070 vehicles per day (NOACA Medina County Highway Traffic Counts, published February 2006).

Proposed Project: This project involves reactive maintenance and wearing surface repair along 11.34 miles of I-76, from I-71 to the Medina County/ Summit County line, in Seville, Wadsworth, and Westford, Guilford, and Wadsworth Townships. The total construction cost is estimated at $2,033,640. Ninety percent ($1,830,276) of the construction (C) cost will be funded from district’s Preservation (highways & bridges) Program. ODOT will fund the ten percent ($203,364) non-federal share. The project’s estimated award date is October 2007.

  • This project promotes NOACA’s Connections 2030 Plan Goal 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio Goal 1 (System Preservation and Management).

Regional Transportation System (RTS) Team:
  • The 2006 pavement condition rating (PCR) is 91-82 (Very Good-Good) and is projected to be 86-76 (Good) in 2008.
