Intergovernmental Review and Consultation (IGRC):
"This slide area necessitating repair has a long history dating back to the 1970's. ODOT installed pylons under the sidewalk to provide support and protect the potential loss of the roadway and at the same time installed a bin wall at the base of the slope. In 1997 the bin wall split open resulting in the current "slide" problem that among other things resulted in the ground mounted guard rail dropping to below the road surface. In 2000, ODOT installed a new guard rail attaching it to the pylons. The core slide problem was not corrected at that time. It is imperative this problem be corrected to protect the future integrity of the roadway. Since 1997, this slide has dropped even more dramatically. Only the pylons are holding the under-surface of the roadway in place although there is a gap between each one that can allow for further sliding. If possible, this project should be done even before Summer, 2008. Your consideration is appreciated." -
