Board Action

Governing Board Action: June 10, 2005

Today the NOACA Governing Board adopted two significant regional documents:

These documents, key products of NOACA as Northeast Ohio’s Metropolitan Planning Organization, meet the federal and state requirements that keep federal funding flowing into the region for transportation programs and projects.

In other business, the Board amended the Transportation Plan with the following five projects:
  • Repairing and resurfacing Snow Road in Parma;
  • Rehabilitating the Whitehouse Crossing Bridge over Norfolk-Southern railroad tracks in Garfield Heights;
  • Planing and resurfacing Grafton Road in Carlisle Township;
  • Resurfacing Island Road in Eaton Township; and
  • Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority capital and operating program for State Fiscal Year 2005.
Board members endorsed a prioritized list of organizations in Cuyahoga, Lake and Lorain Counties to receive special wheelchair lift-equipped vehicles as part of NOACA’s Specialized Transportation Program. These vehicles help social service organizations transport elderly and/or disabled citizens when other transportation is unavailable.

The Board approved a Clean Water 2000 amendment, which incorporates changes in Wastewater Facility Planning Areas in Lake and Lorain Counties. The Board also approved renewing the contract of Virginia Ainslie, the agency’s legislative liaison in Washington D.C., for Fiscal Year 2006.
