Upcoming NOACA Meetings and Events for March 2019

CLEVELAND (Wednesday, February 27, 2019)—NOACA committees and staff will hold meetings and events on the following dates and times. The public is welcome to attend.

School Travel Plan (STP) Development Workshop
Date: Wednesday, March 6
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Place: North Ridgeville Academic Center, 34620 Bainbridge Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039
School Travel Plan (STPs) outline actions to improve safety for students and families when walking or cycling to and from school by addressing the 6 E’s of Safety: Engineering, Education, Enforcement, Encouragement, Evaluation, and Equity. At this workshop you will learn the importance of STP development for schools and communities, how to develop plans with the Ohio Department of Transportation STP Guidance and Template, how to identify partners and resources to create a successful STP, and how to begin planning an STP for your community. Registration for the STP Development Workshop is free but required.

Lorain Road Corridor Study Public Workshop #2 (Rescheduled)

Date: Wednesday, March 6
Time: 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Place: Gemini Center, Oak Room, 21225 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, Ohio 44126
Please join us for the second public workshop of the Lorain Road Corridor Study. The workshop will follow an open house format, so all are welcome arrive at any time to talk about strategies for improving Lorain Road. If you can’t attend, you can give your input via the Lorain Road Corridor Study survey.

APBP Webinar Series: Navigating Without Curbs: Accessibility on Shared Streets

NOACA hosts viewings of the 2018 Association for Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) monthly webinar series as a way to bring stakeholders, colleagues, and clients together to explore bicycle and pedestrian issues and build support for active transportation. The webinars offer training credits that may meet professional accreditation requirements. To register for this webinar, please email bikeped@mpo.noaca.org.
