OARC Elects NOACA Executive Director Grace Gallucci president for 2019-2020

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Association of Regional Councils (OARC) has announced the election of its new officers, who will serve in their leadership roles until January 2021.

Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) Executive Director Grace Gallucci was selected as OARC president. Gallucci has more than 25 years of finance and planning experience in the field of transportation and has served as executive director at NOACA since 2012. She was preceded as president by Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission Executive Director Brian Martin.

“I am delighted and honored to take on this position at this incredible organization that brings passion for building and promoting great communities.” Gallucci said. “May we continue to further our consensus building statewide to making Ohio better, region by region. I look forward to the partnerships among our effective leaders that work with one another to add value, opportunities and funding solutions to impact our future growth.”

Other OARC officers include:

• Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association Executive Director Jeannette Wierzbicki as 1st vice president
• KYOVA Interstate Planning Commission Executive Director Chris Chiles as 2nd vice president
• Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission Executive Director William Murdock as secretary/treasurer

Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments Executive Director Tim Brown, a former state representative, will serve as OARC’s Policy Committee chair. He was preceded as policy chair by Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Director Misty Crosby.

The officers are elected by the executive directors of OARC’s 24 member agencies. These agencies serve more than 1,500 municipalities, villages, townships and counties representing over 10 million residents of those communities across the state. Regional councils coordinate and work to streamline statewide services at the regional level, leverage federal resources and serve as stewards of the Ohio's limited resources.
