Business Advisory Council

Rural Advisory Council

Envision Grafton Community Meeting
Date: Tuesday, Dec. 11
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 
Place: Grafton Village Hall, 960 Main Street, Grafton, OH 44044
The Village of Grafton will be wrapping the informational processes considering ways to improve pedestrian and bicycle accessibility and public access to Village resources throughout Grafton.  The current Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) study is the first step establishing a plan for public connectivity. APBP Webinar: What Do You Do? Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator Skills

NOACA hosts viewings of the 2018 Association for Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) monthly webinar series as a way to bring stakeholders, colleagues and clients together to explore bicycle and pedestrian issues and build support for active transportation. The webinars offer training credits that may meet professional accreditation requirements. To register for this webinar, please email bikeped@mpo.noaca.org.

Safe Routes to School Webinar: 2019 Application Overview
Date: Thursday, Dec. 13

The 2019 Safe Routes to School application round opens January 7, 2019. This statewide webinar, hosted by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), features Cait Harley, ODOT’s Safe Routes to School and Bike/Ped Manager, who will review the application process, submission requirements/changes, and application scoring details. In addition, Kate Moening, safety planner at NOACA, will review SRTS application support for Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties. Register for the Safe Routes to School webinar and come with questions to get a jump start on your application.

Air Quality Subcommittee

Crossing Guard Training
Date: Friday, Dec. 21
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Place: Memorial Jr. High School, South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools, 1250 Professor Road, South Euclid, OH 44124
Adult school crossing guards help children safely cross the street at key locations. They also remind drivers of the existence of pedestrians. This course provides knowledge, as well as hands-on experience with crossing guard demonstrations and practice in the classroom and on roads. It explains how to control traffic to create safe gaps for students to cross the street to and from school, and other personal, knowledge, communication, and skill-based responsibilities of an adult school crossing guard. Registration for the Crossing Guard training is free but required.
