History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12's SFY 2002 Pavement Program .
Current Conditions: IR-90 is functionally classified as a principal arterial. The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) is 92,700 vehicles per day (1996 count). GCRTA and LAKETRAN operate flyer service along this segment. This segment of IR-90 averages 157 accidents per year or 65 accidents per mile (which is twice the average of 33 accidents per mile along all of I-90 or 1.65 accidents per million vehicle miles of travel (VMT).
Proposed Project: This project involves repairing and resurfacing 2.55 miles of IR-90 (East Shoreway), from the Innerbelt curve to the Bratenahl west corporation line (WCL) in Cleveland.
Ninety percent ($810,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the 10% ($90,000) non-federal share. This project would begin in SFY 2002.
