History/Background:
This project is included in ODOT District 12's state fiscal year (SFY) 2003 Pavement Program.

Current Conditions:
IR-71 is functionally classified as a interstate.  The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies.  GCRTA routes 51F, 63F, 64F, 75F, 86F, 251 and 451 traverse the project area during commute periods.

Proposed Project:
This project involves preventive maintenance on IR-71, from Pearl Road (US-42) to the Cleveland west corporation line (WCL) in Middleburg Heights, Brook Park, Cleveland and Brooklyn.

Ninety percent ($1,440,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded from ODOT's District pavement allocation of Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the ten percent  ($160,000) non-federal share.
