History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12's Major Bridge Program .
Current Conditions: IR-90 is functionally classified as an interstate. The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) is 92,700 vehicles per day (1996 count). GCRTA operates Flyer service along this segment.
Proposed Project: This project involves painting the IR-90 Bridge, over the Rocky River Valley, in Rocky River and Lakewood.
Ninety percent ($1,170,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the 10% ($130,000) non-federal share. This project would begin in SFY 2003.
Staff Comment (Summary): Staff recommends approval of this high cost preservation action. Painting should be halted on Ozone Action Days.
