The NOACA Governing Board approved the following project as a candidate to be amended to the NOACA Transportation Plan by adopting Resolution No. 2004-057 and as a proposed amendment to the TIP by adopting Resolution 2004-058 on December 10, 2004.
Title: Preventive Maintenance on I-480 in Brooklyn Sponsor: ODOT-District 12 Estimated Total Cost: $550,000 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT
History/Background: This project is included in the ODOT District 12's Pavement Program.
Current Conditions: IR-480 is functionally classified as an urban interstate. The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies between 99,850 and 107,600 vehicles per day (depending on roadway segment) 2002 traffic count. GCRTA operates limited express service along a major portion of this project length.
Proposed Project: This project involves resurfacing 2.37 miles of IR-480, from West 139th Street to Idlewood Drive, in the City of Brooklyn. Ninety percent ($495,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. The 10% ($55,000) non-federal match will be provided by ODOT. This project is scheduled for an award date in July 2005 (SFY 2006).
