On December 14, 2007, the NOACA Governing Board approved the following regarding this project: Resolution No. 2007-042 Project Planning Review Resolution No. 2007-043 Plan and TIP Amendment Title: Minor Rehabilitation of I-271 Express Lanes in Cuyahoga and Lake Counties Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)-District 12 PID No: 22211 Estimated Total Cost: $8,800,000 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s 2011 Pavement Program. Current Conditions: I-271 is functionally classified as an interstate. The legal speed limit is 60 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies between 89,500 and 106,580 vehicles per day (2003 and 2005 counts). Proposed Project: This project involves mill and fill on the I-271 express lanes, from SR-175 (Richmond Road) in Cuyahoga County to just north of IR-90 in Lake County. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $8,800,000. Ninety percent ($7,920,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the 10-percent ($880,000) non-federal share. The project has an estimated award date of January 1, 2011.
