Title: I-271 Minor Rehabilitation in Cuyahoga and Lake Counties Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)-District 12

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s 2010 Pavement Program.
Current Conditions: I-271 is functionally classified as an interstate. The legal speed limit is 60 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies between 89,500 and 106,580 vehicles per day (2003 and 2005 counts).
Proposed Project: This project involves minor rehabilitation of mainline I-271, from Wilson Mills Road in Cuyahoga County to I-90, in Lake County. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $8,800,000. Ninety percent ($7,920,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the 10% ($880,000) non-federal share. The project has an estimated award date of January 2010.

Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Team:
- This project promotes NOACA’s Connections 2030 Plan Goal 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio Goal 1 (System Preservation and Management).
- Move for committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
Plan Forecast Team:
- Maintenance of traffic, alternative route and mode issues, refer to Communications Team (regarding Rideshare). Refer to RTS Team for pavement condition rating (PCR).
Regional Transportation System (RTS) Team:
- 2003 pavement condition rating (PCR) data rates this pavement as 76 – 83 (good).
- The planned construction date is in 2010.
- Move for committee and public review with consideration of comments.
Committee Review:
Regional Transportation Investment Subcommittee (RTIS)/Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC):
- No comments; recommended for amendment to NOACA's Transportation Plan.
