Geauga County has 408 square miles with a U.S. Bureau of the Census 2006 population estimate of 95,676. It is named from the local Native American word for “raccoon.“ Geauga County includes one city, four villages, and 16 townships.
The county seat is the Village of Chardon. Geauga County has three County Commissioners (who are members of the NOACA Governing Board): Craig S. Albert, Mary E. Samide and William Young.
