On June 9, 2006, the NOACA Governing Board approved the following regarding this project:
Resolution No. 2006-022 Project Planning Review
Resolution No. 2006-023 Plan and TIP Amendment.

Title:  Euclid Avenue University Hospital Intermodal Facility in Cleveland
Sponsor:  Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA)
Estimated Total Cost: $1,321,925
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: SAFETEA-LU

History/Background: GCRTA is the earmark sponsor of two Congressional High Priority Projects in the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act of 2005 – a Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), from the Federal-aid Transit Program: Earmark No. 198 (Euclid Avenue University Hospital Intermodal facility) and Earmark No. 411 (Construction of intermodal facility and related improvements at University Hospital's facility on Euclid Avenue).

Proposed Project:  The Intermodal Facility for University Hospitals will enhance and expand transportation services for employees and visitors to the University Hospital Complex. This center is part of a renovation/expansion plan for emergency room services.

The intermodal center will be located between Adelbert Road and Cornell Road, south of Euclid Avenue. According to the sponsor, this location provides intermodal accessibility to GCRTA’s Silver Line (Euclid Corridor Transportation Project -- Bus Rapid Transit Station), two Red Line Rapid Transit stations and several local bus stops. The project also features bike racks for cyclists. The facility will also include parking spaces for patrons using cars. The intermodal facility will provide a waiting area for transit and non-transit users fostering a unique environment that promotes intermodalism.

The earmarked funds will be used for the construction phase. The building is presently in concept stage. Design is scheduled for 2006 with construction to follow in 2007 into 2008.

The estimated total cost, provided by the sponsor, is $1,321,925. The total project cost associated with Earmark No. 198 (Euclid Avenue University Hospital Intermodal facility) is $1,081,575. The total project cost associated with Earmark No. 411 (Construction of inter-modal facility and related improvements at University Hospital's facility on Euclid Avenue) is $240,350.
