NOACA provides transportation and environmental planning for the counties of Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Lorain and Medina. NOACA's Transportation Department is searching for a qualified candidate for data collection.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of its transportation planning, NOACA plans for using the bicycle as a transportation mode. In order to find out how many cyclists there are now and where they are, NOACA is hiring someone to take bicycle counts at various intersections throughout NOACA's five counties. The counter will drive to the intersections and mark a tally sheet when cyclists go through the intersection. The direction and various other cyclist characteristics will be recorded.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A valid Ohio driver license,
- Ownership of car insurance,
- A reliable vehicle, and
- Familiarity with basic traffic engineering or transportation planning is a plus.
The ideal candidate(s) is one who is self-motivated, familiar with the roadway system.
SALARY: $10.00 per hour - plus 48.5 cents a mile. The position is for the summer only, and will go through August. 20+ hours per week.
