Sealing Decks of Various Major Bridges in Cuyahoga County

 

The Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the TIP by adopting Resolution No. 2001-040 on 06/15/01

History/Background:
This project is included in ODOT District 12's SFY 2002  Major Bridge Program.

Current Conditions:
IR-71, IR-77, IR-90, IR 480, IR-490 and Jennings Freeway are functionally classified as principal arterials.  The speed limit on these facilities is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies.

Proposed Project:
This project involves sealing the decks of eleven (11) major bridges on IR-71at the IR-480 and the SR-176 junctions,  IR-77 over the Kingsbury Run Valley and Cuyahoga River Valley, IR-90 over N&S railroad and Train Avenue, IR-480 over  the Rocky River Valley and Cuyahoga River Valley  and IR-490 over the Rocky River Valley. Traffic will be maintained.

Ninety percent ($1,980,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded from ODOT's District pavement allocation of Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the ten percent ($220,000) non-federal share.
