The NOACA Governing Board approved the
following project for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement
Program (TIP) by adopting Resolution No. 2003-036 on June 13,
2003.
Title: Painting Various Bridges along I-271, I-480 and SR-14 in Cuyahoga County Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 12 Estimated Total Cost: $1,600,000 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT
History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s 2004 Bridge Program.
Current Conditions: I-271, I-480 and SR-14 are functionally classified as principal arterials. Roadway characteristics and average daily traffic (ADT) varies depending on segment.
Proposed Project: This project involves painting various bridges (Alexander Road and Forbes Road over I-271; I-271 over Columbus Road and Rockside Road; I-480 over CSX RR, I-480 westbound and southbound over I-271; and Broadway over I-271) in Cuyahoga County. Ninety percent ($1,440,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund the remaining ten percent ($160,000). This project has an award date in July 2004.
Staff Comment (Summary):
- This project meets NOACA’s Framework For Action 2025 Plan Goal # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s “Access Ohio” Goal # 1 (System Preservation and Management).
- Work is being done in Urban Core and/or Environmental Justice (EJ) areas.
- Move for committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
