Painting Various Bridges in Cuyahoga County

 

The NOACA Governing Board approved the following project as a candidate to be amended to the NOACA Transportation Plan by adopting Resolution No. 2005-012 and as a proposed amendment to the TIP by adopting Resolution 2005-013 on March 11, 2005.

History/Background:  ODOT District 12 is the sponsor of this 2006 bridge maintenance (bridge painting) project.

Current Conditions: The average daily traffic (ADT) varies depending on the route and pavement section.

Proposed Project: This project involves painting the structural steel of five bridges located on US-422 in Solon. Ninety percent (90%) of the construction (C) cost ($1,610,017) will be funded with State Surface Transportation Program (S/STP) funds. ODOT will fund the ten percent (10%) non-federal share ($178,891). This project has a scheduled award date in January 2006 (SFY 2006).

Staff Comment (Summary):

  • This project meets NOACA’s Framework For Action 2025 Plan Goal # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s “Access Ohio” Goal # 1 (System Preservation and Management).
