NOACA is a Proud Partner of the 2010 Census
In 2010, the U.S. Census Bureau will issue a call to action for every resident of our nation: “Be Counted”. NOACA is a PROUD Partner and asks everyone to get involved. Become a 2010 Census Partner because the 2010 Census is important.
As an elected leader, your support matters. By supporting the 2010 Census, you will:
- Bring jobs to your community
- Boost your local economy
- Make informed decisions
- Guide important decisions for your community
- Ensure your interests are represented
- A complete count is vital for accurate representation.
Your community’s participation in the Census matters:
- Every year, more than $300 billion in federal funds is awarded to states and communities based on census data. That’s more than $3 trillion over a 10-year period.
- Census data guides planning for new hospitals, schools and other services.
- Census data is used to determine the most need for additional social services, including who receives community development block grants and other grant programs essential to many communities.
- Census data are used to distribute Congressional seats to states.
Individuals can participate and become involved:
- It’s Quick – the questionnaire contains only a few simple questions.
- It’s Easy – it takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
- It’s Important – your participation in the census is required by law.
- It’s Confidential – Federal law protects the personal information you share.
- It’s Coming soon – the next census is in 2010.
