The Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the TIP by adopting Resolution No. 2000-078 on 12/08/00
Sponsor: Geauga County Engineer Estimated Total Cost: $200,000 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO)
History/Background: The Burton Windsor Road (CR-14) bridge is located on a section of highway maintained by the County. The sponsor received CEAO's approval for the project to use Federal-aid Local Bridge (LBR) funds, administered through the CEAO.
Current Conditions: Burton Windsor Road is functionally classified as a rural local road. The local zoning is residential. The existing bridge is a 44' long, 24' wide steel beam structure installed in 1970. The sufficiency rating is 61.81. The load limits on the bridge have been reduced by 25%. The average daily traffic (ADT) is 360 (1998 traffic count). The legal speed limit is 55 mph. There are no current or proposed bike lanes in the area.
Proposed Project: The project involves the rehabilitation of the superstructure of the Burton Windsor Road bridge, over Phelps Creek, located at mile marker 5.61, in Huntsburg Township.
The new superstructure will include galvanized steel beams with concrete deck or composite deck. A concrete abutment seat will be provided. The abutments will be rehabilitated to accept the proposed 30' wide bridge deck.
The Geauga County Engineers' in-house staff designed the project using Geauga County local standards. The sponsor intends to administer the project.
The project's total construction cost is estimated at $200,000. The preliminary engineering (PE), right-of-way (RW) and 20% of construction (C) will be locally funded. The estimated service life of the project is thirty years.
The sponsor anticipates minimal environmental impact.

Staff Assessment (Summary):
- The County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO) approved this project for the Local Bridge Funds (LBR) in SFY 2004. The sponsor wants to advance the project to SFY 2002. Unless the CEAO approves the advancement of the project, it will be programmed by NOACA for SFY 2004.
