History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s State Fiscal Year 2010 Bridge Program.

Current Conditions: I-90 is functionally classified as an urban interstate. SR-283 (Lakeshore Boulevard) is functionally classified as an urban minor arterial.

Proposed Project: This project involves painting a bridge on SR-283, over I-90, and the East 167th Street pedestrian bridge over I-90 in the City of Cleveland (location map). The estimated construction cost is $550,000. Ninety percent ($495,000) of the construction cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will fund ten percent of the construction cost ($55,000). This project has an award date of July 2, 2009.

Staff Comment (Summary):
Plan and Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Team:
  • This project is consistent with NOACA’s Connections 2030 Plan Goal #3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio 2004 - 2030 Goal #4 (System Preservation).
  • Recommend committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
