Title: Replace Bridge on I-90 in Euclid

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s Bridge program.
Current Conditions: I-90 is functionally classified as an urban principal arterial-interstate. Lakeland Boulevard is functionally classified as an urban collector.
Proposed Project: This project involves replacing the superstructure of the twin mainline slab bridges on I-90, over the Lakeland Boulevard connector, in the City of Euclid (location map). The estimated total cost of the project is $5,283,000. The estimated cost of preliminary engineering detail design (PEDD) is $300,000. Ninety percent ($270,000) of the PEDD cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. The non-federal share ($30,000) of the PEDD cost will be provided by ODOT. The estimated cost of construction is $4,983,000. Ninety percent ($4,484,700) of the construction cost will be funded with IM funds. The non-federal share ($498,300) of the construction cost will be provided by ODOT. The project has an estimated award date of January 1, 2014

- This project is consistent with NOACA’s Connections 2030 Plan Goal #3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio 2004 - 2030 Goal #4 (System Preservation).
- Recommend committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
Regional Transportation System (RTS) Team:
- According to NOACA’s bridge database, these bridges were last inspected on 12/16/09. This project is to replace the bridge decks which have a rating of 2, meaning that transverse cracks are evident on the bottom side (spacing 10 to 20’); and some could be leaking. Some spalling may be present (1% - 10% of total deck area).
