The NOACA Governing Board approved the
following project for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement
Program (TIP) by adopting Resolution No. 2003-036 on June 13,
2003.
Title: Bridge Maintenance Along the I-90 Corridor Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 12 Estimated Total Cost: $1,650,000 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT
History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s SFY 2004 Bridge Program.
Current Conditions: I-90 is functionally classified as an Interstate principal arterial. The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies depending on roadway segment.
Proposed Project: This project involves maintenance of six (6) bridges along the IR-90 corridor. The project also includes wearing surface replacement of nine (9) bridges along IR-90 and other route sections (see map). Ninety percent ($1,485,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds. ODOT will use toll revenue credit for their ten percent (10%) matching share ($165,000). This project has an award date in the fourth quarter of SFY 2004.
Staff Comment (Summary):
- This project meets NOACA’s Framework For Action 2025 Plan Goal # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s “Access Ohio” Goal # 1 (System Preservation and Management).
- This project indirectly serves some Urban Core Community and Environmental Justice (E.J.) populations primarily to the extent that they drive.
